Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist

What I liked about Nick and Norah was that it was a punk rock fuelled romance but not so much so that it was sickening or obsessive. Norah's a kickass chick who can definately hold her own, but that doesn't stop her from letting Nick in. She's not as frigid as everyone tells her ;) Nick is a hetero cute punk rock (possibly emo) boy in a queercore band. He's really a sweetheart. They are soulmates but not in a way that breeds dependency. The Infinite Playlist is them, together. It's metaphor for their relationship. They are not one song, they are one song after another and another and another and another...

I'm already a big fan of Rachel Cohn, her Gingerbread series is amazing and I love her writing style. She has probably the most unique voice in YA that I've ever read. And it's not just the stories or the voices she uses, it's the physical way the books are written. IN ALL CAPS WHEN HER CHARACTERS FREAK OUT!! Lots of exclaimation points when it's VERY VERY DIRE!!!!!!! hehe.

I had never read anything by David Leviathan before but I liked his portions (the Nick parts) He has kind of a flowy, poetry way about his prose. If I didn't already have a gajillion books to read I'd probably try and find some of his other stuff. lol.

I definately recommend Nick and Norah!

Oh, I've been meaning to read this. It sounds really good, and I can't help but agree about Rachel Cohn's books. They are completely original and equally enthralling.

Rachel is part of my "author trifecta"! LOL. Libba Bray, Holly Black, Rachel Cohn. Love 'em!
